After a number of delays and controversies ranging from Sanjay Dutt going to jail to the ever-changing Indo-Pak relationship, Humaima Malick’s Sarman Munjha is finally ready for release across the globe. This was one of the first films that Humaima Malick started working on in India (it was formerly known as Sher) and it looks like this versatile actor has added another unique character to her cap.

Opposite one of Bollywood’s strongest actors, Malick has a lead role in the period film, which is reportedly a remake of Mother India. However, whether the roles take their inspiration from Nargis and Sunil Dutt’s characters in the film, is still unclear.

The film will see Humaima Mallick as a traditional Rajasthani woman.

Produced by Asthivinayak of Rockstar fame, Sarman Munjha also casts Paresh Rawal and Seema Biswas in prominent roles apart from Mallick and Dutt. However, Mallick’s role may be the most interesting as she will be seen in a traditional attire, and of course, sporting a Rajasthani accent.

What was supposed to be Humaima’s debut in Bollywood opposite Sanjay Dutt, was slated to release way before her film Raja Natwarlal opposite Emraan Hashmi came out. However, as luck would have it, her film failed to do well at the box office. However, now, with the announcement of Sarman Munjha, Mallick and her fans alike have a grand reason to celebrate.
