With Bollywood comebacks all the rage every few years, it has been in the news for a while that it’ll be Rani Mukerji’s turn this time around to return to tinsel town with her upcoming film, Hichki. However, unlike other celebs who pretend they never left to have come back, the actress has gone on record talking about why she’s making a ‘comeback’.

Speaking to an Indian publication about her film, which is being directed by Siddharth Malhotra under the YRF banner, and why she chose it, the actress said,

“I was looking for a script that would challenge and excite me, and Hichki came my way. Each one of us has a weakness that pulls us back, it could be a disability or any condition but if we just look at it as simply a hiccup, we can emerge as a winner. It won’t come in the way of achieving your dreams. Hichki is built on this positive premise and I have decided to take it up.”

After she took a sabbatical from work after the birth of her daughter, Adira Chopra, the actress decided to focus solely on the ‘joys of motherhood’.

“As they say, ‘When you become a mother, your child gives birth to you as a mother’. I am learning every day as a mother and I am sure my daughter will teach me much more about motherhood,” Rani said. “I love being a full-time mother, which I have enjoyed in the last two years. But I think it is time for me to get back to work.”

A release date or more details about the cast of Hichki still remain under wraps.
