There’s no scarcity of musical talent in Pakistan and the Queen of Soul, Abida Parveen is a living example. From innumerous contributions to music to her Sufi ethos, one can’t go wrong with Abida. Now, after a long hiatus of creating singles, she’s back with ‘Ahat Si.’

Penned by her son, ‘Ahat Si’ is reportedly one of Abida’s favourite ghazals and hence, she chose it for her music video. Directed by Athar-Bilal, the music video brims with purity and life as Saima Ajram and Yasir Mazhar meander through Yousaf Salli’s haveli.

Akin to what we saw in Hadiqa Kiani’s Wajd series of singles, Abida too, manages to create the same mystical aura through her vocals. In the sheer brilliance that only Sufi music can bring, ‘Ahat Si’ comes alive in Abida’s signature raags.

If you haven’t seen the music video yet, check it out here and tell us what you think!
