Is ‘Padmavati’ going the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ way?

Even before the film’s release, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has faced a magnitude of problems, which do not seem ready to dissipate anytime soon. While earlier there were reservations about the film’s release, now the Rajput Karni Sena has warned against a dream sequence in the film or face ‘dire consequences.’

Starring Deepika Padukone as Queen Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as Maharaja Rawal Ratan Singh, and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji, the film aims to release on 1st December. However, given the current situation, Sanjay is trying his best to calm things down to ensure a proper release.

Warning Bhansali that they will not let his movie release as it has a romantic dream sequence between Alauddin Khilji and Queen Padmini, the political parties are making the most of their two-seconds of fame with flaming statements being issued almost daily. However, to clear the issue once and for all, the filmmaker has released a video stating that there is no such dream sequence in Padmavati.

In the video, Sanjay shared that he ‘made Padmavati with a lot of honesty, responsibility, and hard work.’ He also said that he has always been inspired by Rani Padmavati and that this film is a tribute to her bravery and sacrifice.

Although all of this is giving us major déjà vu of the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil situation from last year, we hope that this doesn’t turn into a mess like it did for Karan Johar
