Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani’s film Sanju, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role has already garnered a huge amount of publicity.

Lately, there have been reports buzz superstar Aamir Khan was offered the role of Sunil Dutt, Sanjay’s father in the biopic, but he refused. At a recent press conference, Aamir explained why he didn’t want to take up the role.

“Hirani approached me with the script and I loved it. He wanted me to play Dutt sb’s role. It is a fantastic role and the story is largely on the father-son relationship. But Sanju’s role is unbelievable,” he said.

Amir said that he was more inclined towards playing Sanjay. “So as an actor, I told Raju that Sanjay Dutt’s role is so wonderful that it won my heart. So in this film I can’t do any other role but Sanjay’s, which of course I cannot do because Ranbir (Kapoor) is playing it. So, do not offer me anything, I can’t come to a set thinking and be looking at Ranbir and be like, hmmm… these should be my lines,” Aamir added.

Aamir also said that he can’t wait to watch the film. He has previously worked with Hirani in films like 3 Idiots and PK, both of which turned out to be blockbuster hits. He will soon be seen in Thugs Of Hindostan which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif.
