I watched Teri Raza on Thursday evening and then mulled over it for two days and watched it again, to ensure that I wasn’t missing any hidden clues that could make sense of the warped plot. But no, I still couldn’t wrap my head around what had just happened in last week’s episode and I need to get it out of my system before the new episode tomorrow.

Suhana’s character has been the biggest mystery that could put the entire Nancy Drew series to shame. Is that a really old-fashioned analogy? Okay, well Suhana’s character is so complicated that it would make Sherlock Holmes appear a simpleton. I was still trying to digest the scene in which Suhana – on a drive with her husband – asks Imtiaz to stop the car and gets a bouquet, which you think is to thank him for taking such good care of her but no. It turns out it’s for Rameez, who she wants to send it to! The absurdity of that scene (or Suhana) had not yet settled in when Teri Raza returned with more.

Suhana invites Rameez home in an idiotic attempt to perhaps kill her father!

Suhana’s father fell ill because of the current circumstances, set off by Suhana and Rameez’s ‘affair’. In this particular scene we see Suhana surprising Daadi by showing her how good her parents look together (perhaps it is their anniversary) but then she invites Rameez without informing her family. And she is stupid enough to think they’ll be okay with it. We wouldn’t have been surprised had her father suffered another heart attack!

Rameez’s mother is worried about his marriage, not his unemployment!

Teri Raza, to be fair, is senseless beyond Suhana. Rameez is unemployed and has nothing better to do, apparently, but his mother is obsessed with the fact that he isn’t married. We don’t get it.

Teri Raza

Teri Raza, to be fair, is senseless beyond Suhana.

How could Suhana feel she had no part to play in her divorce?

Back to Suhana, she constantly argues that it is Imtiaz who sent her home; that it is he who filed for divorce. Can’t she see that Imtiaz asked her to leave because she didn’t love him and wanted to be with Rameez? And now while she is up to mattargashtis with Rameez, she can’t accept that Imtiaz is moving on too and is very vocal about her disapproval.

Wait, hold on! Did they just get married?

There were major editing issues in the last episode because in one scene Suhana is arguing with her mother about marrying Rameez and in the next scene Rameez and his father are discussing how bad they were treated at the wedding. Wait, what? How did her parents agree? How did they get married? Where did they get married…there are so many unanswered questions here.

We hope, but don’t expect them to be answered tomorrow…
