6 celebs who celebrated Independence Day in style

Independence Day this year was celebrated with much more fervour compared to the recent past – all thanks to Naya Pakistan.  There was happiness in the air and after a long time, it felt good to spot green and white more than any colour on the streets. Given the turn of events in the political scenario, it appears that everyone had a reason to celebrate this year and they very well did.

Here, we have chosen a list of people who managed to pull off the celebrations in style. Let’s have a look!

Anoushey Ashraf

Celebrity host Anoushey Ashraf pulled of an off-white Sonya Batla kurta which had late Dr. Ruth Pfau’s imprint on it in green. She paired the look with baggy jeans and fuchsia slides which worked rather well for her. We also felt it was a great gesture to pay homage to a humanitarian like her whose considerable contribution has served the life of so many that Pakistan will forever remain indebted to her.

 Sarwat Gilani

The gorgeous Sarwat Gilani was all smiles as she chose a beautiful light green chickankari shirt by  Shamsha Hashwani with pearl embellishment and embroidery. Paired with white pants and a matching green dupatta, we think the outfit would complement any occasion other than just independence day.

Ainy Jaffri

Model Ainy Jaffri celebrated her independence day in London looking rather traditional in a maroon block print shalwaar paired with a black shirt. We love how although she chose to stay away from the classic colours, she donned some really cool flag earrings, which are surely making a statement.

Syra Shahroz

It’s rather adorable how Syra Shahroz decided to match her cool green look with her adorable daughter and mother-in-law. Donning a funky green Sana Safinaz digital print kurta paired with magenta, the trio appears to be in great spirits celebrating independence day in style.

Mehwish Hayat

Mehwish Hayat donned a sophisticated look wearing a forest green kurta paired with white pants. We love the shade of green she chose for the occasion complemented by a little green flag lapel on the side.

Momal Sheikh

Momal Sheikh opted for a classic white chikankari kurta paired with a cool shaded chevron striped dupatta which accentuates her plain, sophisticated look.

Which look is your favourite?

Mariam Hameedi

Sarcasm and witty puns are my best friends (also my worst enemies). I love turning my world around on its axis and soon the most ordinary events turn into the craziest stories.
