With each year marking a new feat for the Pakistani entertainment industry, Hum Awards have been at the forefront of celebrating the achievements of the nascent industry. One such example of this grand gesture was the recently held 6th Hum Awards in Toronto, Canada!

The most anticipated awards of the year, Kashmir 6th Hum Awards truly turned out to be one of the biggest International Pakistani Awards attended by top celebrities at the First Ontario Centre, Hamilton.  Amongst the attendees were superstars such as Humayun Saeed, Mahira Khan, Mawra Hocane, Shahid Afridi, Reema, and Atif Aslam who set the stage on fire.

The evening kicked off with a mesmerizing performance by Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir, Hania Amir, Kubra Khan and Shaz Khan to the music and visuals of Parwaaz Hai Junoon, a tribute to Pakistan Air Force (PAF). Ali Rehman then introduced the cast of the film and showed the trailer.

The show, which was jam-packed with fans from all across Northern America, also proved to be one of the strongest openings for a Pakistani show ever. With people swooning to each superstar who made it.

During the show, some of the highlights included the inimitable duo Bushra Ansari and Ahmed Ali Butt engaging the audience with a comedy act, the Best New Sensation Television Female award, which went to Hania Aamir and Ahad Raza Mir, and of course, the megastar of Pakistani music Atif Aslam coming on stage and stealing the show with his absolutely outstanding musical performance on his popular number Dil Diyan Gallan, Thaam lo, Woh Lamhe, Hoor, Pehli Dafa and etc.

The entertainment-packed evening set towards its final run as it featured a knockout performance by Mikaal Zulfiqar and Hareem Farooq. It also marked some important awards being distributed, with the Best On-Screen Couple presented by Mahira Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi going to Ahad and Sajal for their brilliant performance and chemistry in Yaqeen ka Safar.

The award for Best Drama Serial went to Momina Duraid for Yaqeen Ka Safar. Best Actor Female drama serial presented by Ahad Raza Mir went to Sajal Aly for her role in Yaqeen Ka Safar and Best Actor Male, presented by Mawra went to Ahad for Yaqeen Ka Safar.

To the delight of the audience, the megastars of Pakistani media industry Humayun Saeed and Kubra Khan then set the stage on fire with a colourful troupe in attendance. Their electrifying performance brought the house down before the final awards were distributed.

The last set of hosts for the evening were Ali Rehman and Hareem Farooq, while the jury award for Best On-Screen Couple went to Sajal Ali and Bilal Abbas for O Rangreza, the Best Drama Serial went to Momina Duraid for Alif Allah aur Insaan, whereas Best Actor Female and Male went to Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui, respectively.

Bringing the night to a befitting end was the energizing number ‘Aasma ko chootay jaien hum’ accompanied by a scintillating performance, as it received a roaring applause by the energised crowd.

However, we feel that the biggest winner of the night has to be Pakistan, itself. As finally, Hum Awards proved at a grand stage that Pakistani talent knows no bounds. Has any other award show ever brought the house down and proved to be such a grand global spectacle like the 6th Hum Awards? We don’t think so!
