Priyanka Chopra is going from strength to strength and she’s taking her new role as global ambassador for India very seriously. As reported exclusively by Variety, Chopra will be executive producing a comedy series with ABC about a former Bollywood star living in the USA. That star is being designed after Madhuri Dixit, who is also executive producing the show.

The currently untitled single-camera series would follow the former Bollywood star who settles down in the suburbs of America with her bi-cultural family and tries to bring her colorful lifestyle to an otherwise dull town. Sri Rao, a Bollywood writer and a writer for shows like General Hospital: Night Shift will pen the pilot.

The comedy series is being fashioned around Madhuri Dixit’s post Bollywood life in the USA.

Just last month, Madhuri had teased something new and exciting was going to be announced and this is definitely it.

It is still unclear as to who will be cast in the shoes of this Bollywood diva in USA; it could be Madhuri (50) herself or then it could be Priyanka (35) who has a much wider viewership and global fan base. It could also be someone entirely new.
