Following the success of Kapoor & Sons, Fawad Khan has been in high demand in Bollywood, it seems. Bestselling author Pankaj Dubey has revealed that the Hamsafar star is his first choice for a role in the film adaptation of his new book Love Curry, along with Alia Bhatt and Sushant Singh Rajput.

“I have already started scripting the film and thinking about the casting. As the story is mainly about three boys from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, I want to cast Sushant, Fawad for the two of them,” Pankaj said, according to reports.

“For the female lead, I think Alia can play the part. Let’s see how the casting goes,” he added.

The book that was launched on Friday night, revolves around three guys from three different continents who live in the UK. It follows their journey of their life, love and cultural identity.

“I lived in London for quite some time for my study and work. I have seen how people are narrating their story of identity struggle… Though the time has changed drastically and thanks to the internet, people know that India is not a country of snake charmers anymore, there are snob people with disinterest and misconception regarding our culture.”

Pankaj assured however, that Love Curry will not be too serious a film.

“I do not want to treat the issue with so much seriousness, rather wanted to focus on how these three guys, who are otherwise fighting against each other as Indian and Pakistani unite as one in a western country,” he concluded.

We wonder if Fawad will take the role!
