Pakistan finally has another music sensation to look forward to with the return of Pepsi Battle of the Bands’ upcoming season. Helmed by Pakistani Pop band Strings, who will be seen as judges replacing Atif Aslam and Shahi Hasan from the previous season, it will also see the return of Meesha Shafi and Fawad Khan.

Judging by the opening song which released lately, Pepsi Battle of the Bands appears to be even bigger and better featuring all the judges along with the two finalists, Kashmir and Badnaam performing together in one hit mashup comprising old songs combined into an iconic medley.

The video commences with Kashmir joining the stage and performing their original track ‘Kaaghaz Ka Jahaz’, and the real surprise comes off when nation’s heartthrob Fawad Khan joins the band to perform with the band. It’s a memorable moment for all Fawad fans to see him perform again post his EP days. What a treat!

The song moves on with Badnaam performing in a studio with Meesha joining them. Together, they create splendor by turning ‘Kala Jora Pa’ in a hard-hitting rock track and who but Meesha could have done justice to the song with her much-needed spunk!

And finally, the entry of Bilal Masqood and Faisal Kapadia of Strings elevate the game with their 2003 song for the World Cup Hai Koi Hum Jaisa making us all reminiscent of the time when the song was our heartbeat. Fawad, Meesha, Kashmir, and Badnaam join the iconic duo and sing along the chorus ‘Aay oo, aay oo aay oo aa’ giving fans to relive the priceless moment again.
