Aangan tops the list of dramas that we have been impatiently waiting for in 2018 and after a prolonged delay, the producers have finally treated the viewers with not one but two teasers! The best part is that they totally live up to the hype.

The first teaser of the drama features Ahad Raza Mir as Jameel and Sajal Aly as Chammi, and their brilliant on-screen chemistry has won the audience once again. It’s well shot and the actors prove their talent in every frame and with each dialogue they deliver.

Fans and co-stars are equally in awe of Sajal’s onscreen presence. “She’s outstanding in #aangan,” wrote Mawra Hocane who plays Aaliya’s character and shares the screen with Sajal in the first teaser.

While Sajal does seem to overshadow everyone in the clip – she’s just that good an actor – other actors too, prove that they have equally important and weighty characters.

The second teaser features the entire cast, making the viewers even more eager for this heartbreaking pre-partition saga than they were before.

The period play is based on the novel Aangan by Khadija Mastoor which is set in the 1940s. Directed by Mohammed Ehteshamuddin, the star-studded project features Mawra Hocane, Ahsan Khan, Sajal Aly, Ahad Raza Mir and Sonya Hussyn among others.

Here’s the problem: we’ve grown very wary of projects that are hyped up as much as Aangan has been. It usually causes for over expectations, that all too often don’t get met. Case in point today is Thugs of Hindostan, the kind of magic we expected and the kind of mediocrity it delivered. We wish the producers would stop calling Aangan a “masterpiece” themselves and allow viewers to watch and decide how good it really is.
