“The stories in this book, of Malala and all the other incredible girls are moving and inspiring in equal measure. They will inspire so many others to dream, reach higher and believe in themselves,” Katrina wrote. “Malala – I wish you more strength, more power, to keep changing the world one day at a time. The world needs you and more like you.”

Malala too responded to Katrina’s kind words. “Thank you so much for your support. This means a lot to me and all the girls whose stories I share in this book. Hope their stories spread globally and inspire people,” she wrote on Katrina’s post.

In an interview with BBC News, Malala revealed what motivated her to write this book. “I thought this was a time that I share stories of refugee girls because we hear about refugees and immigrants but we never hear from them especially from young women and girls,” she said.

All proceeds from the book go to Malala Fund which works for girl’s education and will additionally, benefit the refugees mentioned in her book.
