Bollywood’s touch cookie Kangana Ranaut is known for her blunt nature and this time Alia Bhatt has irked her. Kangana is not happy with Bollywood stars who had invited her for the screenings of their films and expected her to praise their projects, but have maintained their silence over her latest movie Manikarnika. The actress is particularly unhappy with Alia.

In a recent interaction with media during a promotional event, Kangana said that members of the film industry had “ganged up together like a classroom of kids” because she spoke up about nepotism.

“Is the Queen of Jhansi my relative? She is yours as much as she is mine… then why are these people hesitating? Because I spoke up about nepotism? That scared them?” Kangana said.

Kangana said while she had turned up for the screenings of Dangal, Secret Superstar and Raazi, Alia and Aamir failed to respond during the release of her film.

Later, Alia offered an apology to Kangana. “I hope she doesn’t dislike me and I don’t think she dislikes me. I don’t think I have done anything intentionally to upset her. If I have, I will apologise to her on a personal level,” Alia said.

However, this doesn’t seem to have calmed down Kangana. In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Kangana said, “I reached out to Alia (Bhatt) and asked her what makes her think Manikarnika is my personal controversy, it’s a film whole nation is talking about and wondering why Bollywood is keeping quiet on such a relevant work.”

“I suggested that she grows some spine and supports an important film about woman empowerment and nationalism… if she doesn’t have a voice of her own and her existence is all about being KJo’s (Karan Johar) puppet then I don’t consider her successful,” she added.

“I told her if she is only focusing on earning bucks and not raising a voice, then her success has no value. I hope she understands the true meaning of success and her responsibilities; nepotism gang life is simply restricted to giving and taking favours, hope she rises above that,” Kangana added.
