Naimal Khawar tied the knot with Hamza Ali Abbasi over the weekend, and had everyone drooling over her Nikkah look. Needless to say, it was a refreshing turn away from the slew of heavily done up brides (not that we mind, they’re gorgeous nonetheless).

The blushing beauty kept it minimal, from her dress to her jewels and her makeup, and managed to still turn heads and elicit gasps from the audience who were waiting with bated breath for the couple’s reveal. Clad in a stunning, traditional gold lehnga, she exuded an old world charm that’s rare these days, making for an alluring bride.

Talking about her timeless beauty, it’s not a surprise that Naimal chose to reuse her mother’s wedding dress, and made it look as beautiful as any other fancy ensemble. The Anaa actress looked regal in her mother’s dress with slight alterations, courtesy of designer, Maheen Shah.

According to Maheen, they chose to keep the dupatta and lehnga as it is, and crafted a gold, kamdaani kameez to go with the lehnga. Featuring accents of traditional gota and salma work on the daman, sleeves, and neckline, the kameez was finished with tassels.

The ghoongat was specially crafted by Maheen for Naimal, boasting of kaamdani on an organza dupatta, finished with their signature lace, lappa and taamba kiran.
