Documenting the story of one of Pakistan’s most heinous criminals, Javed Iqbal, trailer of the movie titled The Untold Story of a Serial Killer: Javed Iqbal has been released and it is nothing short of a strange experience that will send chills down your spine.

Starring Yasir Hussain in the titular role, the trailer is dialogue based and is narrated by Javed Iqbal, a man who sexually abused and killed more than 100 children in Lahore, Pakistan between 1998 and 1999. The killer not only tortured and murdered the children but also butchered and dissolved their bodies in acid to get rid of the evidence. He was sentenced to death in the same way.

The trailer opens with a handcuffed Javed Iqbal walking towards the court. His voiceover in Punjabi describes his wicked plans on how the disappearance of 500 children in Lahore each year is no big deal because 1 lakh more children are born every year. This spine-chilling voiceover continues throughout the trailer and gives viewers a glimpse into Javed’s notorious mind.

Yasir who is playing the notorious killer has aced the performance as his appearance in every frame makes you feel uneasy. His expressions are sinister and atrocious, instilling fear and dread at the thought of the lives the actual killer has taken.

Ayesha Omar is playing a determined cop in the movie who is fiercely investigating the murders committed by the serial killer and tracking down his accomplices in the busy streets of Lahore. The actor has portrayed the frustration, agitation and complexities of solving such a heinous crime very convincingly and it is definitely a performance to look forward to. Glimpses of Paras Masroor and Fazal Hussain also piqued curiosity.

Produced by Javed Ahmed, written and directed by Abu Aleeha, the cast of the film also includes Paras Masroor, Rabiya Kulsoom, Fazal Hussain and Aamir Yamin amongst several others.

The film is scheduled to release on 24th December, 2021.
