I haven’t got an invitation for Imran Khan’s swearing-in ceremony: Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan

There seems to be some sad news in the offing for Aamir Khan fans in Pakistan as the actor has rubbished rumours about coming to Pakistan for Imran Khan’s oath-taking ceremony.

According to a report by News 18, Aamir Khan is not going to Pakistan any time soon, much less for the swearing-in of Imran Khan as Prime Minister, as he was not invited.

“I haven’t got an invitation for Imran Khan’s swearing-in ceremony,” Aamir told the Indian news channel. “I am busy as I have a very big event for Paani Foundation, which I am preparing for. It’s a massive event with 10,000 villagers and is taking place on August 12.”

Previously, rumours were rife that the Dangal actor had been invited to the ceremony after the actor had ‘promised’ to come to Pakistan if Imran Khan was elected into power. The conversation took place prior to the 2013 General Elections when the Pakistani premier was on a visit to India.

In regards to this, Fawad Chaudhry too had confirmed the news on Wednesday, as he spoke to the media outside Pakistan’s Supreme Court, and claimed that former cricketers Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, and Navjot Singh Sidhu have been invited, along with Aamir.

Will Aamir Khan’s Pakistani fans ever see him in their own country one day? We surely hope so…
