One of the highlights of the Lux Style Awards tonight is the commencement of the #Mein Bhi movement – an initiative by Frieha Altaf for basic human rights and gender inequalities. It has been reported earlier that the segment dedicated to this cause includes a grand finale performance by 76 musicians, as well as activists who have supported various causes. Amongst these, we will also be seeing the popular transgender activist and model Kami Sid.

Kami has previously been an advocate for transgender rights, and her modeling stint with Waqar Khan added to her ever-increasing fame.

“The ‘Mein Bhi’ movement doesn’t just stand for a particular gender, we have all been harassed, be it, children or trans people,” Kami told Something Haute while speaking about her part in the campaign.

The activist revealed that she will be one of the many activists who will be holding placards representing their respective causes, during the performance of the ‘Mein Bhi’ segment.

The bubbly Kami was also very excited to be a part of the LSAs, acknowledging the platform for what it is. Of course, knowing that Kami is as much of a fashionista as any, we had to ask what she’ll be wearing tonight, and out of the few options she has shortlisted we were told Generation is her number one choice at the moment.

“Nabila told me she’s going to doll me up and have me looking more fabulous than any star on the red carpet!” Kami excitedly claimed.

There’s Kami and more to look forward to tonight. Meanwhile, keep checking this space for more updates!
