The latest obsession to grip the nation has been none other than Dr Asfandyar from HUM TV’s hit serial Yakeen ka Safar.

Starring Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly, the story has gripped viewers who are eagerly (and somewhat sadly) waiting for the last episode to air tonight. Many have gone on to call Ahad, who plays the role of the brooding doctor, the next Fawad Khan!

It is undeniable that Dr Asfi has a charm that is highly appealing, and ladies have gone gaga over him, similar to the case of Fawad Khan’s most popular role as Ashar from Humsafar.

We caught up with Ahad in Lahore, right after his first runway experience and after he had spent a couple of hours meeting star struck fans.

“Dear God that was crazy!” Ahad exclaimed at the mention of Dr Asfi’s fan base, having just escaped his first fan mob.

We went on to ask Ahad if he feels Dr Asfi is being objectified for his looks.

“No.” Ahad straight out rejected the notion.

“I think it’s his attitude, the way he carries himself. I think he’s actually very passionate and compassionate, but because of his past he keeps those things in his heart versus showing them to people. I think they [the audience] are attracted to the idea of Dr Asfandyar,” the young actor mused.

“Sure he’s a good looking guy, but they’re attracted to his vibe,” Ahad explained how he had to change the level of his voice as Dr Asfandyar, to give it that soft low tone.

Whatever it is, one thing is for sure: playing the role of Dr Asfandyar might just be Ahad’s big break. The actor will also be appearing in film Parvaaz Hai Junoon, as well as Hum TV’s Aangan.
