Ahsan Khan has been playing an active part in making the country proud. Recently, he had flown to the US to support an initiative by CALPAK – an alliance of Californian Americans and Pakistanis – that aims to promote education in the under-served communities in Pakistan. There he was awarded the certificate of recognition and was commended for being the voice of support by the current Mayor of Los Angeles.

The certificate read, “On behalf of the City of Los Angeles, It is my pleasure to recognise Mr. Khan for promoting children’s rights. Mr. Khan’s personal commitment to raise the trauma of child abuse into a national spotlight became a turning point for a mass social awareness. He is undoubtedly a key influencer that took a strong stance through film and TV screens to shift the social responses to such tragedies. Children represent hope for a bright future that can only grow with mentorship and support.”

In response, Ahsan shared his thoughts on education through his social media stating,” Real education enhances the dignity of a human being and increases his or her self-respect. If only the real sense of education could be realized by each individual and be carried forward in every field of human activity, the world will be so much a better place to live in.”

“We have invited Ahsan because he brought such an important topic of child sexual abuse to the national conversation through his character in Udaari. You’ve to be brave to come out and talk about these taboo topics,” the founder of CALPAK, Anila Ali had also earlier told Something Haute.
