It seems that the season of banning films never ends in Pakistan and India, and film Aiyaary is the latest target. The film has hit the screens in India today and stars Sidharth Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah amongst others. However, if you thought you’d be able to see the film in Pakistan, think again.

The plot of the film is set against the backdrop of the Indian Army and thus, has been rejected by the Central Board of Film Censors.

“The film was rejected by Central Board of Film Censors, Islamabad for public exhibition yesterday,” Nadeem Mandviwalla confirmed to Something Haute.

Aiyaary is based on a real-life incident that revolves around two strong-minded army officers having completely different views, yet right in their own ways. The development proves to be a third for filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, whose past films Baby and Naam Shabana also failed to receive a clearance for release in Pakistan.
