Add another comedy offering to your list of Pakistani films to be seen this year as first-time director Hisham Bin Munawar’s Ready Steady No is due to be released in July this year. The trailer of the movie has been released on Thursday evening and it seems to be a slice of life comedy which is full entertainment.

Amna Ilyas (Razia) and Faisal Saif are playing the lead couple who are desperate to get married, despite of their family’s opposition. The plot seems to revolve around several problematic yet comical situations the duo faces in order to get hitched.

The film attempts to invalidate all the implausible dreamy sequences that movies show about couples who elope. While the song playing in background mentions ‘filmoun se tou bilkul farq hua hai‘, we get to see the real-life troubles that girls and boys from middle class background face when they run off.

Marhoom Ahmad Bilal (last seen as Billu Butt in Teefa in Trouble) is playing a dumb lawyer who would help them in tying the knot. Veterans Salman Shahid and Ismail Tara are portraying the role of the lead pair’s parents.

The film is scheduled to release on 19th July, 2019. Watch the trailer and share your thoughts:
