The Tera Woh Pyar (Nawazishein Karam) duo, Momina Mustehsan and Asim Azhar, recently attended talk show Tonite with HSY where they exchanged interesting stories about their earliest encounters and how they became friends.

The conversation took an exciting turn when HSY complimented both the singers for voicing their opinions. The host asked Momina what comes to her mind when she hears the name Hadiqa Kiani and she instantly replied “Legend”. While Momina stated this with certainty, Asim wasn’t able to hold his reaction and said “Wait!” then laughed and pointed towards the host who gestured to express that Asim should rethink.

Momina had to break the awkward moment and stress upon the fact that Hadiqa is “like one of our only iconic or biggest female musicians”. The discussion went out of depth when HSY began naming other legendary female singers of Pakistan such as Nazia Hassan, Abida Perveen, and Tina Sani to which the Afreen Afreen famed singer responded by saying that she meant Hadiqa is ‘one’ of the iconic singers.

Asim, however remained unconvinced. “Legend is too big of a word for me. The standards for a legend are too high [for me]. Someone with a stature of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan who has influenced people can be called a legend.” In response Momina quipped that “Kisi ko izzat dene mein aap ka kya jaa raha ha? [How does it matter if you’re giving someone respect?] And Hadiqa must have set trends at her own level.”

“She must have,” Asim replied.

Shortly afterwards, Momina took a jibe at Asim by asking him if she call Ali Azmat a legend? And his reply was a definite “Yes! He was an influencer.”
