To sing like a nightingale and mesmerize everyone is a talent and this talent is something that comes naturally to Atif Aslam. Whenever Atif sings, he sets a mood that transcends the listener to another level and whenever he releases a new song, people around the world cannot wait to listen to it.

That is exactly what happened when Atif shared a new song, ‘Tum‘, from Bollywood film Laila Majnu, which has been written by Imtiaz Ali, produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Imtiaz’s brother Sajid Ali. The movie — set in Kashmir — although received great response from fans, failed to perform well on the box office. After Imtiaz’s previous film Harry Met Sejal performed poorly, it was expected that this modern-day version of the folklore will do well but unfortunately, that did not happen.

While the film might not have done well, it appears Atif’s song will surely strike a chord. What sets this track apart from all the other songs released by Atif is the mood as well the difficult notes performed effortlessly by him. The singer has proved yet again that he can take any composition and turn it into magic.

Although the movie is directed by Imtiaz’s brother, Sajid, the soulful melody of the song is the true representation of Imtiaz’s  sufiyana work. The song features upcoming actors, Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwary, who played the lead roles in the film. Though originally slated for May 4th, the film was released on September 7th.
