The much-anticipated first trailer for Avengers 4 – officially titled Avengers: Endgame, released Friday, marking Marvel’s 10-year achievement in building its most-coveted universe.

Exploring the aftermath of Thanos’ actions in Avengers 3: Infinity War, we find Iron Man out of tricks somewhere in space. He is shown sending a last holographic goodbye to the love he left behind as he drifts, starving and dehydrated, through the void of space. However, he’s probably not alone — Nebula also survived the fight, and later in the trailer appears to be aboard this ship.

Back on Earth, Bruce Banner – AKA The Hulk is at Avengers HQ in upstate New York, cycling through images of the missing, as the rest face a world of mourning as they lose their friends, families, and for Thor, his entire planet. “All of us, we lost friends, we lost family,” says a visibly emotional Captain America.

However, the trailer is so much more than just pain; it shows the remaining Avengers plan an end-game, and boy, what an emotional moment does that seem!

Truly, a journey through everything that’s happened over the last decade, Avengers 4 will mark the final film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s current generation, which comprises 22 films, including Spider-Man: Homecoming and the upcoming Captain Marvel.

Avengers 4 will also reportedly be the last Marvel movie for some key actors, including Chris Evans, who seemingly bid farewell to his character, Captain America, earlier this year on Twitter. Other original Avengers actors, including Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Chris Hemsworth haven’t said if they’re leaving following Avengers: Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame will be released in April 2019, earlier than expected. However, it’s preceded by Captain Marvel, and it will be followed by Spider-Man: Far From Home.
