With Balu Mahi’s release inching closer each day, the plethora of promotions seems to be in full swing. Whether it’s the charismatic Osman Khalid Butt promoting the film tirelessly on social media, or the various glimpses of the story that we’ve seen in the trailer and now, its latest released song, ‘Bechainiyan’, it has left us wanting more, albeit with all of its follies attached.

Shot in the picturesque Astore Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan, the song looks absolutely beautiful. It is the perfect cookie-cutter example of a traditional Bollywood style duet in the mountains; Jafri even mentioned, on social media, how years of secretly dancing to ‘Pehla Nasha‘ helped when shooting this song. And she looks just as gorgeous as the stunning Valley that surrounds them in this song. With a perfect location, Ainy Jafri’s effortless acting, and Butt’s awkwardly cute dance moves, ‘Bechainiyan’ is finally an ode to the more traditional times of love, when simpler things actually did mean simpler lives.

One must also acknowledge that despite being fitted into the romantic hero archetype time and again, Butt’s presence on the screen is strong and perhaps, plays his strengths perfectly rather than playing any other role. Having said that, we still wish his acting/serenading skills could have been more chiseled, but that’s all our wishful thinking.

If you still need more reasons to check out the songs than the stellar cast, then check it out for the beautiful scenery that’s sure to leave you in awe!
