After taking a two year hiatus from the public eye, in Pakistan at least, Bilal Khan is thankfully back because let’s be honest, there are very few heartbroken singers who can melodiously croon their woes away in front of us and still make it an entertaining experience for the audience.

For those of us who were wondering where Bilal had disappeared, the singer song-writer had gone to the US to complete his Masters in Advertising, although the word ‘disappeared’ is hardly fitting for someone who became an international viral star last year. While ‘Bachana‘ was his claim to fame here in Pakistan, ‘Save Me’ helped him gain an international audience when it was shared by UNILAD, one of the most popular social media giants of our generation, helping amass over 1.7 million views on his video.

This international audience of course introduced Bilal to international producers as well, and we are very proud to announce what Bilal is up to. “I was recently in London and there I was invited by Nitin Sawhney to work with him on my original songs.” For those of you who don’t know, Nitin Sawhney is a world class British producer who has worked with the likes of Paul McCartney, Sting, Ellie Goulding and Ed Sheeran to name a few. He is also responsible for producing the timeless soundtrack to Mira Nair’s The Namesake.

Based on what we know about Bilal and Nitin’s work, we can’t hep but be excited by this amazing collaboration. Whatever the two have worked on will definitely be making their way to our playlists in the near future.

“We have recorded four songs. He (Nitin) is in the process of finishing them.” While there is no official date of release yet, we can expect to hear them very soon since the work is almost complete.
