News of the Day: Everyone on this side of the border already thinks that Ahsan Khan should win a Lux Style Award for his extremely memorable performance in Udaari but it seems as though Bollywood is rooting for Ahsan too!

We discovered this when we saw Bollywood celebrities sharing video testimonials wishing Ahsan Khan good luck for the awards. The first Bollywood singer to do that was singing sensation Alka Yagnik, who recently sang for the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer Tamasha. “I just wanted to say, what a brilliant performance you have given in Udaari,” said Yagnik in a video message shared by Ahsan.  “It’s very difficult to believe, in fact it’s unbelievable that the same Ahsan Khan who has done all those charming, lover-boy roles has done this role, which is such a contrast and you have done it so credibly and beautifully!”

Yagnik went on to explain that her friends love Ahsan just as much as she does. “All my friends feel the same way as I do. I just wanted to wish you all the best. You surely deserve the award. Not only this, you deserve all the awards possible!”

Then Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi also shared a video in which he called Ahsan’s performance”fantastic”.

We’re just wondering how and why all these Bollywood celebs are wishing Ahsan Khan, and more importantly, how did they even watch Udaari in India?

So we got in touch with the star of the moment and asked him to give us all the details. “Aditya is a really good friend of mine, we met through a mutual friend. I always visit him whenever I’m in Mumbai. Also my friend Moin Beg is the bridge between us all,” shared Ahsan.

“One day I got a call from Alka Yagnik and she was at a GT where my other Bollywood friends were and she was praising my work. She told me that all her friends would get together to watch Udaari!” We wondered how Alka and her friends had access to the TV play, to which Ahsan informed us that they have all watched the show on Youtube.”

Ahsan is also thrilled at all the love he’s received from everywhere. “Uzma (Gillani) apa also called me to congratulate me for my performance. That was such a huge deal for me because she is such a legendary actress.”

We wish Ahsan all the best for the upcoming LSAs. The result comes out on Wednesday, 19th April.
