With the multi-strarrer Bollywood epic, Thugs of Hindostan opening to a harsh reaction from the critics and audience throughout the globe, Pakistani film, The Donkey King can finally breathe a sigh of relief as it thrives another week in the country.

According to independent box office websites and sources, the film featuring voiceovers by Jan Rambo, Hina Dilpazeer, and Javed Sheikh, amongst others, have done exceptionally well this week and has managed to collect another PKR 1.3 Crore this week. The total of the film collections have thus, rocketed up to PKR 18 Crore in its five-week run.

In comparison, the Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, and Aamir Khan starrer has managed to only do a business of PKR 10 Crore in Pakistan, which is well below the numbers done by films like Race 3 and Baaghi 2.

However, despite dwindling numbers, the film’s advance booking and screen allocation will give the film a push and take its overall collection to PKR 15 Crore by the end of this week.

On the other hand, Hollywood’s biopic of Freddie Mercury, Bohemian Rhapsody has enjoyed a massive success in the Pakistani market, where the screen allocation has remained at a healthy 50 percent this week. That said, the film has failed to do the box office collection around the world as it had expected, which may impact the local market as well.

What will the new week bring for the films on screens currently? Only time – and audience’s ever-changing choices – will tell…
