Less than one month before the highly anticipated Lux Style Awards 2017, scheduled to take place in Lahore on February 21, 2018, it has been revealed that Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) will not be directing the show. This comes exactly one year after former show director, Frieha Altaf, was replaced in favour of HSY.

“With this message we want to inform you that Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) will not be directing LSA 2018. His decision is due to budget constraints against his creative vision given,” shared team HSY.

Apparently, the vision HSY had presented to the organizers was turning out to be too expensive and beyond approvable budget.

We got in touch with Raheel Pasha, Marketing Director at Unilever for further verification.

“The Lux Style Awards will be held on February 21st,” he confirmed that the show would be held on schedule. “At this critical time of need for social awakening, we aim to use the platform for our industry to stand in solidarity with the nation. More details on the theme to follow.”

He added that the Awards show would be held in Lahore, carefully avoiding the subject of HSY and why he was no longer directing the show.

We just hope that the new director is able to deliver a show to the standard and calibre that one expects from an LSA.
