See Prime has latesly been presenting a variety of content for its viewers. After Mohsin Talat’s Ab Buss starring Sanam Saeed, Awais Sulaiman’s Chambelli featuring Aijaz Aslam is the latest release on the streaming portal to catch our attention. Chambelli is an 18 minutes short film that presents a unique take on the horror genre in Pakistan.

Zoya Nasir and Aijaz Aslam play a couple who plans a quiet weekend getaway. Fate, however, has something else in store for them and that’s how the story develops.

The guesthouse they choose to stay at happens to be originally owned by a bride named Chambelli.  According to the servant who is seen narrating the story, the would-be groom dies in a tragic accident while she continues to wait.

“I wanted to do something out of routine work,” revealed Aijaz Aslam in an exclusive chat with Something Haute. “Chambelli is a story of love and betrayal,” he added, when asked about the horror element in the released trailer.

Speaking about the recent shift towards digital releases in Pakistan, the very versatile actor said that it’s happening but it’s still not as big as it is in other parts of the world. “The shift towards digital is still happening very slow here in Pakistan. It is the future and we must start investing in it to make a mark in the international market,” he said adding that Pakistan has great potential.

“We need our audience to watch and encourage such projects made here,” he requested. “The more you support such content, the more variety you will get.”

Chambelli is definitely something different than the content that has been airing on television these days. The short film is gripping and easily keeps you hooked till the end. Featuring unpredictable twists throughout, the actors too seem to have done justice to their characters.
