With Pakistan a few day shy of its 70th anniversary of independence, the nation is all set to celebrate in every magnitude. Whether it’s hoisting a flag or reminiscing memories of yesteryear, no Independence Day could be complete without some kind of homage to the country. Now, in that same valor, Coke Studio has done its part by releasing a reprised version of the National Anthem today.
Integral to any nation’s identity, the National Anthem is enough to create a sense of unity that is essential during times that are good and bad. Thus, when Coke Studio officially launched this season by releasing its rendition of ‘Pak Sar Zameen’ – which is sung by all 40 singers who will feature during Season 10, it was successful in igniting the right amount of passion needed!
Launching a new season in August every year, it has become somewhat tradition for Coke Studio to begin with an emotional ode to the country. Both ‘Sohni Dharti’ and ‘Aye Rah e Haq k Shaheedo’ tugged at the heartstrings and the National Anthem has amplified that mood. We do hope that listeners in every household stand up in respect. We did!
Speaking about the Anthem, Strings, the executive producers of Coke Studio since its seventh season stated,
“By bringing together some of the biggest names in Pakistan’s music industry to sing our revered National Anthem, we hope to rekindle the spirit of patriotism and social consciousness in the heart of every Pakistani. This is more significant now than ever, as we are marking seventy years of our independence.”
Each participating singer and musician got deeply emotional during the production, coming together as one force for this special production.
The much awaited Season 10 is all set to release on August 11. However, before you start watching those, maybe start with the best of it all, our National Anthem:
