Not one to rest, Deepika Padukone was already working on her next project after the phenomenal success of her latest Padmaavat. Her upcoming film was a biopic based on the life of mafia queen Sapna Didi. However, director Vishal Bhardwaj has revealed that the shooting for the film has been delayed due to Deepika’s recently developed back problem.

It was earlier reported that the look tests for Deepika and her co-star Irrfan Khan had being finalized, and that shooting had also begun. Vishal Bhardwaj recently took to Facebook to announce the delay in shooting, “Deepika Padukone’s back problem which had previously developed during the shooting of Padmaavat has now resurfaced. Her role in the film is very physically demanding and the doctor has advised her not to do any strenuous work for a couple of months,” he wrote. “Deepika and Irrfan’s look tests have come out exceptionally well, nothing like you’ve seen before, and it took me a moment to recognize them when I saw the test photographs.”

Shooting for the film has been indefinitely postponed.
