When it comes to men’s fashion, one brand that inspires and at the same time excites is Amir Adnan. The brand’s take on tradition is unmatched and whether it’s the wedding season or Ramzan, we see all eyes on Amir Adnan for trend sets and style guides. This year Amir Adnan has once again brought out a sleek and practical Eid collection true to the brand’s signature aesthetic. But over and above the fashion, we love the spirit of equality and generosity that the newly released TVC gently urges the average man to focus on in this pious month. The importance of sharing is the main theme of this campaign as well as the collection as it highlights the power of relationships, whether with family, friends or associates. The idea is to promote camaraderie and love. All these values contribute to the spirit that would make the average man ‘the perfect man’.

The video, while having a beautiful message true to the spirit of Ramzan, also highlights some key trends for the season. We spoke to the designer himself, asking him to tell us what trends men should be focusing on when it comes to fashion this Eid, to oomph up their look from a simple white or black kurta shalwar.

Monochromes

While nothing can compare to a crisp white shalwar kameez, Amir Adnan advises you to use different shades of the same colour to add that extra touch. “As you can see in the video, we have used white head-to-toe but in different shades,” the designer told us.

The classic white stands for peace, love and friendship.

Layering

The waistcoat, and its variants, are here to stay! Nothing looks as sleek as adding a coat over your traditional wear, it gives the outfit a great finesse, don’t you think?

Uniformity

While you may not want to wear similar outfits as your family members all year round, wearing a similar style or colours from the same family is common amongst men and women during eid, and it actually looks endearing! “It brings about a sense of uniformity and belonging,” as Amir stated.

Accessorize

Who said menswear has to be boring? You just need to have the courage to experiment a little! “In the video we used a karakul topi as an accessory,” Adnan shared, “which is a mix of the Jinnah cap and the Turkish fez. It’s a classic which holds a lot of historical and cultural significance and is perfect to make a fashion statement.”

Fashion for all ages

Lastly, Amir Adnan highlights how fashion doesn’t have any age limits. “50 is the new 30! Fashion isn’t just for the young, when you’re older you have more confidence and being confident is being bold which is what fashion is about.” Contrary to common belief, just because you’re older doesn’t mean you can’t be fashionable; age brings with it wisdom and experience, which adds to your personal style.

The video itself is simple and holds a clear message. “It’s not to promote glamour, it’s to promote emotional values.” It highlights the sincerity of intentions and the gift of giving in this holy month, a message that any society cannot stress on enough. “Share the good things,” as Amir Adnan simply puts it. “It’s an Islamic, Western, Chinese and worldwide concept. A concept of the new era!”
