This year seems to be a celebration of Lollywood stars as many yesteryear actresses are going to create magic on the big screen. After Meera’s return to the cinema with Baaji and Parey Hut Love (PHL), Nigar Award recipient Zara Sheikh will be returning to mesmerize the audience with a wedding dance number in Heer Maan Jaa after a hiatus of many years.

Directed by Azfar Jafri, who has films like Parchi, Siyaah and upcoming Sher Dil to his name, and produced by Imran Raza Kazmi and Lakhani Films, the film stars Hareem Farooq, Ali Rehman Khan in lead roles along with veteran actor Abid Ali. After the news of Zara making a comeback was announced, in an exclusive conversation with Something Haute, producer Imran Raza Kazmi revealed how the decision to approach the actress was made.

“We’ve always valued the stars of yesteryears be it in Janaan with Ajab Gul, Nayyar Ejaz or in Parchi with Shafqat Cheema. This time, we decided to approach a leading female actress of Lollywood and Zara matched the requirements we had. We reviewed the songs she had done before and we fell in love with her expressions, she delivers effortlessly and that’s exactly what we wanted.”

The song by Herbie Sahara (who garnered appreciation for song Billo Hai from Parchi) of renowned duo Sahara UK, is a dance number which is choreographed by Faizan Uddin and Osman Khalid Butt. When asked about the release of the song, he said,

“Although I cannot disclose the name of the song yet or any other details, we will launch it in full swing sometime in June and I can assure you, it will not disappoint [the audience].”

Just like Meera will be seen in a shaadi number in PHL and will also be seen making a cameo in the film, is it going to be the same with Zara?

“You’ll have to wait for the release of the film but, I can tell you that the word cameo will be redefined in my film as every cameo will have its own impact in leading the story forward,” Imran said, hinting at the possibility of Zara’s cameo.
