The year 2018 pretty much belonged to Fahad Mustafa when it came to Pakistani films. Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, in which he played the manipulative Rahat, went on the acquire blockbuster and record breaking box office status. Load Wedding, with Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza, may not have done so well commercially but was a favourite amongst critics. Both films released at the same time and created a win win situation for Fahad.

You’d think he’d be on a roll in 2019. But no. Speaking to Something Haute, the ‘Actor in Law’ confirmed that he hadn’t signed any film yet. He would start filming in November 2019, for an undisclosed project, but was looking at a 2020 release for that.

“I’m tired,” Fahad shared as a reason for sitting 2019 out. “I’m tired and I wanted to give time to my show (Jeeto Pakistan) and (TV) productions.”

The ongoing Balaa is a Fahad Mustafa Production and the upcoming Cheekh, starring Saba Qamar, is also a drama serial he’s producing and is anticipating as a hit.

“Balaa did wonderful and Cheekh will do good as well Insha’allah.”

When asked what he was doing with his time these days, he said he was busy travelling with Jeeto Pakistan. He’s hosting the show in Punjab for the next 10 days, going through Lahore, Multan and Gujranwala.

“I’m also playing a lot of cricket these days,” he smiled. “Enjoying life a bit.”

It’s well-deserved but since Nabeel Qureshi did recently confirm that he would release a film in 2019, does this mean he’ll be making a film *gasp* without his good luck charm, Fahad Mustafa?

“We have discussed a few projects, which we both liked; Now let’s see which one will go on sets first,” he explained.

So we’re guessing that the film Fahad agrees on next will be a Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza Production but it won’t be a 2019 release. You’ll have to tune in to Jeeto Pakistan if you want to watch this star in action!
