Spanish clothing design and manufacturing brand MANGO has announced Pakistani model Zara Peerzada as its first official spokesperson in Pakistan.

Zara took to Instagram to break the news and express that she’s excited to be the high street fashion brand’s spokesperson. “I am beyond thrilled with this opportunity. MANGO has been my go-to store in Lahore for so long; I still can’t believe that it’s become a real collaboration”, she told Something Haute in an exclusive chat.

“I met some of the MANGO team from Spain, when I hosted the launch for their store in Lahore, but I didn’t think they would expand beyond that locally. I’m glad that they have, because I think it’s so, so important to have local representation even if it’s an international brand. Recently, I was asked to do their first ever cover and fashion shoot in Pakistan and simultaneously their international team gave the go ahead for me to be their spokesperson in Pakistan.”

She added that it’s great that international brands are now choosing to work with Pakistani talent. “So far it’s been fantastic because I’ve just gotten to be myself with the brand and the clothes and that’s when it becomes fun too. It feels great to have international brands finally elevating Pakistani talent without hesitation like Mahira Khan for L’Oreal, Ayesha Omar for Maybelline and I’m humbled that in a small way I get to be a part of that.”

MANGO launched in Pakistan in 2013 and has done well for the market since then. The brand serves customers in almost 2,500 cities globally and 108 countries, Pakistan being one of them.
