The Lux Style Awards are scheduled to take place next month, and while music and film nominations were announced earlier, nominations for the ten fashion categories were just revealed. The categories include designers, photography, hair and make up artists, models and emerging talent.
Here’s a look at the nominees and what we think of them…
Model of the Year – Female

The competition is tough, with Amna Babar and Sadaf Kanwal as top contenders, and this one could go either way! That said, rumour is that Zara Abid is a hot favourite this year. Are we about to see a vote swing?
Model of the Year – Male
Aimal Khan

Hasnain Lehri
Omer Shahzad
Shahzad Noor
We believe Hasnain Lehri is most likely to win Male Model of the Year but we’d be just as happy to see Aimal Khan win. We didn’t even know a model called Champ Imi even existed!

Chapter 2 by Khaadi
Cross Stitch
Generation
Sana Safinaz
Sapphire
While Sapphire and Generation are likely to give each other strong competition, we do believe Chapter 2 has changed the face of ready-to-wear in a very short time. It’s the breakthrough brand of 2017! And we don’t entirely believe in Cross Stitch being on this list.

Shamaeel Ansari
Again, we have the best of the fashion industry nominated for this category and we believe Élan is likeliest to take home the LSA though Shamaeel had a really strong year too.

While Élan rules hearts, Sana Safinaz showed two extremely strong collections at fashion weeks. And Ali Xeeshan grabbed the headlines with his well thought out collections. This is a tough category. We miss having Nomi Ansari here.

Zara Shahjahan
Another extremely tough category, with 5 stand out brands. Élan was undoubtedly most popular but Zara Shahjahan stood out for being minimalist and different.

Republic by Omar Farooq
While Republic is all the rage for young men today, Amir Adnan is likely to take this one home.

Shahbaz Shazi
While all of these photographers have great accolades to their name, we do believe no one does it like Abdullah Haris.
Best Hair & Make-up Artist

Shoaib Khan
Saima Rashid, who took home the award last time too, is our best bet again this year though people do swear by Hannan Siddique.

Hussain Rehar has been on our radar recently, but then Saheefa has been on the high road to success too, making this a tough call!
