Too much has been going on and I’ve missed reporting most of it. It’s too late for me to attempt a recap and plus, between all the things I’m juggling these days, I don’t think I’d be able to in all honestly. One reason for my hiatus was a two week vacation in Islamabad and Lahore, where the lack of heating froze my fingers into inaction. They refused to type even when my brain wanted them to. The second reason is the newest responsibility I’e undertaken: the editorship of OK! Pakistan, due to launch in March this year. More on that later.

What I do want to say and reiterate is that I will not shut down my blog; I’m just waiting for things to settle down a bit. I am Editor of OK! Pakistan and I will continue to be blogger at Something Haute. So what now?

Look carefully and you'll see a stylist preening a mannequin head…in the sprawling backyard of the swanky Toni & Guy salon in Islamabad.

The season is picking up as the fashion industry is returning from vacation. Toni & Guy opened a sprawling and fabulous new salon in Islamabad, which I was lucky enough to experience. Thank heavens I will not be tortured by the likes of Sobias and Millis and etceteras and will be able to get trendy and hygienic services at a high end (yet affordable) space.

On stylist that has stayed ahead of things in Lahore and Karachi, however, is Nabila. Not only is her latest venture, N Gents rocking in Karachi but it’s also opening in Lahore. The 10 Q salon is shifting into new premises as palatial as the Karachi salon AND there is exciting news around the corner. I can’t reveal too much but you’re surely find out soon enough. What I can tell you, additionally is that Nabila and her creative team will be styling all four days of the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week in April. With Nabila, the event just moved up several notches in style.

Nabila does things in style, whether it's fashion week or a sundowner soiree at her rooftop apartment overlooking the sea.

With so much fashion action in the pipeline, you may be wondering what’s the update on FPW (Fashion Pakistan Week). The FP council was unable to carry out the Fashion’s Day Out it had announced at its press con last year (reasons unknown) and now while the proposed date for FPW is coming up in February, I have no concrete details on it yet. Soon, I hope.

And till then…
