News of the Day: Rumours have been abound for quite some time and so when I met Fawad Khan at the launch of his wife’s fashion label Silk in Dubai, I couldn’t resist asking him whether his involvement with the upcoming Pepsi Battle of the Bands was true. I asked him if news of him judging the reality show was true and while not confirming much, he did hint at being part of Pepsi Battle of the Bands. He even said he was extremely excited because that is how his own band EP was formed so life is coming full circle. If that isn’t a confirmation, then nothing is!

And that’s the information we have on the music show that will probably aim to give Coke Studio, Nescafe Basement, Cornetto Pop Rock and etc a run for their money. This does sound more like Battle of the Brands!

But back to Fawad, he is currently filming the reboot of Maula Jutt with Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan and Humaima Malick. The Bilal Lashari film is expected to release in 2018. I asked him about his personal fashion choices and why he always chose to wear Republic. He rarely experiments with his appearance.

“Omar Farooq is a very dear friend and I have a strong personal equation with him,” he said. “He understands what looks good on me and what doesn’t and I trust him with his choices. That said, my look is very different in the next film (Maula Jutt) and you will see the change.”

I turned to his wife and asked how she was adapting to the new beefed up, bearded look?

They both looked at each other and smiled, as if sharing an inside joke. Sadaf said that she had asked him to clean up a bit for the brand but she absolutely loved his look in the film.

“I just love the look,” she said. “I have been on the sets and I just can’t wait for the shooting to resume again.”
