In a rather surprising move, makers of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2Â (JPNA2) have decided to remove Fawad Khan’s cameo in the film.

Rumours have been rife for a while now that Fawad has a special appearance in the film but it wasn’t until the film’s premieres in Lahore and Karachi that a select audience finally got to see a glimpse of him in a never-seen-before avatar — a rock star with a lisp!
What could be the reason though behind this decision to delete his scenes? “Because Fawad is shown speaking with a lisp, for the sake of clarity there were supposed to be subtitles all throughout his performance, including one song he’s shown singing. Unfortunately, due to a technical error, subtitles weren’t added to the song and those added to his scenes were also incorrect. And since the movie has already been released, the only choice we had was to delete the scenes because fixing the subtitles, without stopping the film’s release, isn’t possible at the moment,” JPNA2 writer and actor Vasay Chaudhry told Something Haute.
Having watched Fawad’s cameo, we agree that there was lack of clarity in his dialogues so may be this isn’t such a bad call after all.
However, Vasay added that they weren’t able to make the cut in the international version in time so those who will watch the movie outside of Pakistan will still get to see Fawad in JPNA2.

The film has, otherwise, opened to fantastic reviews with critics saying they loved it. Would the audience eventually get to watch Fawad’s deleted cameo when the JPNA2 DVD comes out? We hope so because the issue regarding the subtitles could also be fixed by then.
