Wardha Saleem is one name that has consistently shown at almost every season of Fashion Pakistan Week; kudos to this young designer for keeping the creativity flowing at a time when too many credible names are sitting seasons out in favour of commercial pursuits. Wardha not only knows the importance of showing but she shows to high impact. She’s an anticipated constant at fashion week and this festive season she has designed with a wedding constant in mind. If there’s one symbol associated with weddings, it’s the dholak and that’s exactly what her collection is all about.

Wardha’s DHOLAK- Festive’17 collection celebrates the most festive wedding occasion of the sub-continent – the mehndi. The collection is traditional and playful, in signature Wardha Saleem style and you can expect to see a symphony of vibrant colors, intricate techniques and details play out on the catwalk. This collection has been designed for the perfect mehndi bride, the designer says. Here’s a glimpse of some of the embroidered elements she has incorporated in the Dholak collection…

The music is going to be very exciting, festive and you can expect to hear some Sindhi festive tracks too.

“Our brand is all about fun and quirk,” Wardha spoke to Something Haute, “so you can expect the show to be quirky and fun too. We’ve used unconventional techniques. This is an affordable mehndi line. We’re showing looks with different price points and there will be 6-7 menswear looks as well. Lots of fun!”

September/October is a great time to show bridals, the designer added. Oh, and there will be some celebrity spotting at her show though you’ll have to wait and see who!!!
