Gossip Girl is the hit teen drama which centered around the antics of a group of teenagers from the Manhattan elite. Now it’s officially making its way back to television in 2020. According to Hollywood news website Variety, the Gossip Girl spinoff series will air on streaming service, HBO Max.

The show became popular in the youth with its combination of trend-setting fashion and scandalous drama on the Upper East Side. Gossip Girl featured stars like Blake Lively and other teen heartthrobs including Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick and Taylor Momsen. Unfortunately, there is no word on whether any of the original cast members will be returning for the new show.

However, the new series won’t focus on the adventures of Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf. The 10-episode series is set eight years after the original show’s finale.

The reboot will follow a new generation of New York private school teens who new to the social surveillance of the Gossip Girl site. The show will explore how much social media and the landscape of New York itself has changed in recent years.
