In in a case that seems to be mired in controversy, one after another, Meesha Shafi’s sexual harassment allegation lawsuit against Ali Zafar has yet again taken a new turn.

In a report by The Express Tribune, the newspaper has confirmed that Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana – the current acting Governor of Punjab, has rejected Meesha’s appeal, which she had filed under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2010.

The reason for the rejection has been cited on the basis that Meesha’s case doesn’t fit into the law as she wasn’t an actual employee at the time the harassment allegedly took place and thus, was not bound by any formal contract.

Reportedly, Meesha’s legal team is now going to be filing a re-appeal, whereas Ali’s legal has confirmed that the dismissal had happened prior to the release of Teefa in Trouble, but was kept under wraps due to the film’s release.
