Jewellery has been a focal point this bridal week, with designers collaborating with renowned jewellery brands to complete the look of their showcasing collection. It’s great to see jewellery being given as much importance as the clothes, fulfilling the meaning of bridal fashion. Known for her handcrafted artisanal pieces, Hamna Amir presented Darya-e-Dastoor, on the third day of PLBW, collaborating with ace fashion designer Nomi Ansari.

The impeccable jewellery collection was an ode to the Mughal era, featuring purely traditional pieces including jhoomars, chaand balaas, raani haars, and jhumkays. The jewellery featured Hamna’s signature aesthetic, including meenakari, kundan and polki pieces. The lavish jhoomars and oversized nose rings made the perfect statement against Nomi’s colourful ensembles.

Studded with stones, the necklaces were mostly heavy chokers, often coupled with a comparatively simpler necklace for a grand effect. Gemstones, vibrant colour palettes, dramatic bold pieces complemented the feminine classic design and exquisite workmanship which could be seen from afar. The precious stones, rubies and emeralds, coupled with the traditional  kundan and polki work made a beautiful combination. Overall the collection gave fantastic options to upcoming brides.

“Our philosophy and aspiration is to combine the symbolic beauty and perfection of stones with innovative and creative designs in order to give our customers a totally new and contemporary jewellery experience,” Hamna said, speaking of her collection.
