Being a star in the true sense of the word means to go beyond the basic qualification and take it a notch higher; to be talented and have the body of work to speak for that talent, to look confident, poised and to be able to represent your country globally, which means being articulate too. Hareem Farooq is one of those stars that fits that description, which is why she’s right now in Paris, representing Pakistan as L’Oréal Professional’s official spokesperson at the brand’s 110th Anniversary celebrations.

We managed to get through to Hareem as she was prepping up for the big gala night (last night), eager to know how she was tackling Paris…

How does it feel to be representing L’Oréal and Pakistan in Paris?

Hareem:It is such a proud moment and feeling to be here, that my work as an actress in Pakistan has today lead me to represent my country in front of thousands of people from all over the world in France.

What kind of pressure do you feel when you’re heading out?

Hareem: Every time I am out of Pakistan at an event, be it film promotions, award events or representing a brand, I just want to make sure that I don’t break the trust of my family and fans and let them down.

What do you keep in mind when planning your wardrobe? Do you think global looks or Eastern representation?

Hareem: For this event we have made a conscious effort to ensure that my wardrobe was designers from Pakistan. Rest of all the events have a dress code, so we have worked with our designers to build the looks around that.

What are your fashion and beauty must-haves when traveling to Paris?

Hareem: My must carry for all travels are deodorant, sun block, moisturiser, lip balm, hoodie and a good perfume – and for Paris – winter clothes, because it’s still cold here!

What’s your biggest Paris nightmare?

Hareem:Having to walk around town in high heels (hahaha)

Out of all your industry friends, who do you miss most and wish would be with you in Paris?

Hareem: Imran Raza Kazmi, for sure!!
