You want to know why? Because Pakistani filmmakers are delivering entertaining family content this holiday season. We have three local releases, Parey Hut Love, Superstar and Heer Maan Ja, helmed by renowned directors with some of our most beloved Pakistani stars.

Here’s a rundown of movies that will hit the cinemas this Eid ul Azha…

Family Fun

If you want to go with family and friends to watch movies that are entertaining, dramatic, fun and visual treats, then the triad of Pakistani films are perfect for you.

Parey Hut Love

films

Asim Raza’s much-anticipated romantic flick Parey Hut Love is an intense love story of the lead couple, Sheheryar Munawar and Maya Ali. The cast promised that PHL is a classic romance which is definitely going to be much more than just song, dance and tragedies of unrequited or lost love. The film is also about burning desires and bitter realities. Also, the film has a lot of cameos. Intriguing? Don’t miss it then.

Superstar

films

Well… Superstar has Mahira Khan in it! So that’s definitely a plus. However, directed by Ehteshamuddin, the film has an old-world charm to it. The visuals and songs are fascinating and charming. Bilal Ashraf is playing the lead hero opposite Mahira Khan and we are looking forward to see the chemistry between the new jodi. However, we are already in love with the songs such as the soulful Bekaraan and In Dinon, while Mahira makes her hearts flutter in Noori.

Heer Maan Ja

films

We have seen Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan previously in Parchi. The two are good friends in real life and that shows on screen as well. Heer Maan Ja is a perfect mix of comedy and action together with an atypical love story, which makes it a good option to give a break to romantic dramas. Directed by Azfar Jafri, Heer Maan Ja also has a social message in it and we think it shouldn’t be missed.

films

This Eid, the flightless birds and scheming green pigs take their beef to the next level. Lovers of the game and the first edition should watch it to see how the two frenemies join hands to save their homes.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold

Fans of Dora the Explorer shouldn’t miss this opportunity to watch the girl in action on her most dangerous adventure ever i.e High School. She, along with her friends, will go on a mission to save her parents this time along with solving the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.

Shock & Awe

For those who love scary movies and like to get their share of of shock and horror this Eid ul Azha, Hollywood has something in store.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark shows a group of teens face their fears in order to save their lives. Though it’s not for the faint-hearted.
