One would think that in summer it would be a bit more difficult to track down our celebrities, who are mostly off jet-setting, but the world of celebrity-attention seeking is bustling, blazing and even more competitive with each passing season, our beloved hauteliers. Plus with a bunch of new movies dropping in, upping the ante is inevitable, if you know what we mean. It is sure to bring about a surplus of style from red carpets to your tablets or phones, whatever you use to indulge in a bit of fashion musings.

This weekend was all about waving the flag, though. Our favourite celebrities decked up in momentous green and white and all things patriotic to express their love for Pakistan on its 70th birthday. Not all the looks worked.

Let’s get the judgment out, shall we?

1. Urwa Hocane

celebrity

Airport styles are usually very dubious, but this number by Shamsha Hashwani was cute and simple and in true spirit of Independence Day. Plus, we prefer Urwa Hocane simple, and when she’s not trying.

2. Ayesha Omar

celebrity

Wearing a number from Khaadi’s The Nomad to the Baluchistan Excellence Awards in Quetta, we applaud Ayesha Omar for keeping it chic and event appropriate, but was it necessary to blend in with the tapestry? It’s difficult to decide where her outfit ends and the carpet and curtains begin.

3 . Fawad Khan

celebrity

We’ll let him be because Fawad Khan is always good on providing us with our eye candy quotient of the day.

4. Meesha Shafi

celebrity

God bless Meesha Shafi for existing. Not only is she the reigning queen of the red carpet but only she can make a basic white sherwani look like haute couture. The star is wearing a customized piece by Khaadi Khaas, for their Independence Day campaign.

5. Ali Sethi

celebrity

While these colours look flattering on Aliya Iqbal, the same does not go for Ali Sethi. Mr. Sethi, prints like these only belong in an Austin Powers movie. We’ll assume that there is a marathon of that trilogy that you were going to and required you to come in costume, if not, fire whoever did this to you.

6. Kami Sid

celebrity

We’re loving this look as much as we love her keeping the spirits alive. Kami is rocking her Sonya Battla kurta while keeping it casual and sporty. You go girl!
