In an exclusive conversation with Something Haute, Mansha revealed that the film has a stylization similar to Sacred Games.

Baaji

movie

Marking Meera’s comeback to the big screen, Baaji is a film which pays homage to the Lollywood days and shows the transition from then to today’s contemporary Pakistani cinema. Osman Khalid Butt, Amna Ilyas, Mohsin Abbas Haider will be seen in prominent roles in this Saqib Malik film. It will also mark the director’s cinema debut. The film is expected to release in mid-2019.

Note: Other Pakistani films which await a confirmation date for a 2019 release are Faisal Qureshi’s Sorry, Shehzad Roy’s debut film Alif Noon, Shamoon Abbasi’s Durj and Sami Khan’s Wrong Number 2. Although we know Humayun Saeed’s Love you Jatta is also scheduled to be released on Eidul Azha, it is yet to go on the floors.

In Bollywood, 2019 seems to be the year of fresh pairing too. It is also worthy to note that all these big banner films of the year star Alia Bhatt in prominent roles.

Gully Boy

movie

For the first time ever, Bollywood’s most loved actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt will be seen as an on-screen couple. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film is all set to release on Valentine’s Day in the forthcoming year. The story is a musical drama, which is a first for both the actors.

Brahmastra

movie

After Ranbir Kapoor confirmed that he is dating Alia Bhatt earlier this year, fans were immediately psyched to see the fresh pair together in Brahmastra. Directed by Ayan Mukherji and produced by Karan Johar, it is a sci-fi romantic film which is slated for release on August 15, 2019. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan.

Kalank

movie

This film has definitely kept fans on its toes as Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit will be seen on-screen after 22 years. The film also stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Kunal Khemu and Aditya Roy Kapoor. In an exclusive interview with Times Now, Sanjay revealed that the story of the film is family-centric and revolves around two families and their values. The film has been wrapped up and will be hit cinemas on April 19, 2019.

Bharat

movie

After many hit films, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will be seen together again in this adaptation of South Korean film Ode To My Father. The story is a circus drama with a backdrop of ’60s and will feature Tabu, Nora Fatehi, Disha Patani and Varun Dhawan’s cameo. The film was faced with controversy after the Pakistani flag was hoisted in a village in Punjab to re-create a Wagha Border scene. Given its controversial nature, it will be interesting to see if the film gets released in Pakistan.
