H&M held its annual see-now-buy-now Spring show in Paris, with Japan as an inspiration for the collection. For their unique show, one of the grand halls of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs – a museum of the decorative arts and design located in the Palais du Louvre – was converted into a giant ryokan (a traditional Japanese inn), complete with mega paper lanterns and tatami mats.

The show was preceded by a classic dinner of sushi, sashimi and miso soup, followed by a performance from ‘The Dancing Strawhatz’, a trio from Japan.

The collection itself featured clean silhouettes, a relaxed vibe and an abstract print inspired by the Japanese writing system. The womenswear and menswear both took subtle inspiration from Japanese culture; traditional colours of red, yellow, green and blue, and the renown cherry blossom pink.

The collection is officially up for grabs online and in select stores.
